Heathrow drop-off charge
What Heathrow charges to stop at the terminal, what that buys you, and the free or cheaper way to do the same drop.
£7 every time a vehicle enters the drop-off area — the charge is per visit, with no time allowance attached.
There is no time allowance to price per minute — the charge is applied per entry.
The free way to do the same drop
Free drop-off is available at Heathrow's Park & Ride car parks, previously known as Long Stay, where passengers can take a free bus transfer to the terminal.
That is the airport's own wording, not our suggestion: where an airport publishes a free option, it is quoted here with its conditions.
How to pay, and what it costs to forget
- Deadline: Before midnight on the day after the visit.
- Methods: Card only — cash and cheques are not accepted.
- If you don't pay: a Parking Charge of £80, reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days.
Worth knowing
Charged per entry, not per minute: there is no published dwell time attached to the £7. Taxis and private-hire vehicles pay it too.
Sponsored link: if you book a transfer through it, this site earns a commission. It does not change the price you pay, and it never decides what a page says.
Checked 27 October 2026 against Heathrow's own page. Charges change — the date is the promise, not the permanence.
